The house is part of a Cortijo that contains 6 houses co-joined on various sides. Casa Piquena (small house in Spanish) is joined on two sides by one house. It is in a Cortijo called Cortijo Las Padillas and is approximately 5 Kms from the village of Algarinejo in the province of Granada. It is accessed from the main road between the villages of El Higueral and Algarinejo via a private dirt track shared with other tenants.
The village is full of restaurants and bars with very little English spoken. It has approx 3000 inhabitants most of whom are connected with olive farming in some way. The village is very lively in the summer months with regular saints day celebrations and fairs. There is a regular farmers market on a Saturday for fresh fruit and vegetables. there are several small supermarkets and artisan food shops along with several banks, a library, builders merchants, and a town swimming pools open in the summer months.
The house has undergone recent refurbishment works yet it has kept its character. It was first registered in 1928 but its actual age is not known. All papers are available for hand over to the next owner.
